Boura authorities launch initiative to prevent community and land conflicts

The communal consultation framework of Boura, located in the Sissili province, held its first ordinary session on September 1, 2026, to address community and land conflicts. The meeting brought together local stakeholders, customary authorities, and technical services to develop mechanisms for managing tensions arising from agropastoral activities, urban expansion, and migration.

Provincial Secretary Baowindsida Bingo emphasized the importance of using the framework to defuse social tensions before they escalate into open confrontations. To combat land disputes and leadership quarrels, the President of the Special Delegation of Boura, Judith Diasso/Kanyala, highlighted the necessity of involving traditional leaders alongside village development councils to ensure peace messages reach the population effectively.
