Bourbon industry sees new limited edition releases
September marks a significant period for bourbon enthusiasts, highlighted by the Kentucky Bourbon Festival and the release of several highly anticipated limited editions.
Four Roses has released its 19th Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon. This 2026 edition features a blend of four batches, including 14-year-old and 15-year-old stocks, as well as a 23-year-old component that makes up 10% of the blend. The release utilizes 80% K yeast, resulting in a profile characterized by spice, cinnamon, ginger, and oak, rather than the fruitier notes seen in previous years.
Other notable releases include Bluegrass Distillers' Elkwood Reserve, a 19-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 64.5% ABV. Additionally, Castle & Key has introduced a Cask Strength Wheated Bourbon, which utilizes primarily 8 and 9-year-old liquid to create a silky mouthfeel with notes of stone fruit and aged oak.
