Bournemouth Nears €30 Million Deal for Benfica Defender António Silva
Bournemouth manager Marco Rose confirmed the English club’s intent to sign Benfica centre‑back António Silva, saying the player wants to join and that talks are “very close”. Benfica president Rui Costa has also acknowledged ongoing negotiations, though a final agreement has not yet been reached.
The proposed transfer fee is reported to be around €25 million plus €5 million in performance bonuses, matching Benfica’s valuation. Silva, who captained Benfica in their recent Europa League qualifier against St Gallen, would reunite with former Benfica director Tiago Pinto, now a Bournemouth executive.
The move would bring the 26‑year‑old defender to the Premier League, subject to the clubs finalising the deal.
