Bouwgein hosts space-themed holiday week for 215 children

The Bouwgein construction playground in Nieuwegein concluded its annual Kindervakantieweek, hosting 215 children for a five-day event themed ‘Space’. From August 24 to August 28, participants engaged in activities including building huts and rockets, sports, and creative workshops such as figure sawing.

Despite a thunderstorm on Thursday evening that forced the cancellation of a planned ghost tour, the program adapted by moving a murder mystery game into the sports hall. The event, which has been a local tradition for approximately forty years, was supported by volunteers and sponsors including SportID Nieuwegein, Jumbo Walnootgaarde, and Bakery Van der Grijn.
