Bouygues Immobilier wins contract to build 2030 Olympic village in Saint‑Jean‑de‑Sixt

A consortium led by Bouygues Immobilier has been selected by the Olympic delivery agency Solideo to construct the 2030 Olympic village at Saint‑Jean‑de‑Sixt in the French Alps. The 3.3‑hectare site will host 75 housing units, half of which will be social or cooperative rentals, a gym that will be transferred to the inter‑communal authority after the Games, and an expanded children’s holiday centre. Work is slated to begin in mid‑2027, with accompanying upgrades to local roads, a municipal campsite and surrounding infrastructure.

Two years after the 2024 Paris Games, the Seine‑Saint‑Denis district is grappling with the legacy of its own Olympic village. The Solideo investment of €3 billion allocated about 90 % to the area, creating 2 800 apartments across Saint‑Denis, Saint‑Ouen and L’Île‑Saint‑Denis. A regional audit reports slow sales and high prices, with free‑hold units capped at €6 000 per square metre, far above neighboring districts. While the housing stock has risen 32 % in five years, the benefits appear to favour future residents and the new Pleyel transport hub rather than the district’s current low‑income population.
