Bouygues Telecom announced that it has completed the migration of its entire FTTH infrastructure to XGS‑PON technology, allowing symmetric speeds of up to 8 Gb/s across its fibre network. The rollout was finished several months ahead of schedule, ending Free’s exclusive ability to provide such speeds nationwide and intensifying competition among French broadband providers.

The change helps avoid administrative fines for non‑compliance.

At the same time, mobile‑virtual network operator Prixtel introduced a 20 GB 5G plan priced at €6.99 per month, targeting users with modest data needs. The plan is adjustable to higher tiers (40 GB at €8.99, 60 GB at €10.99) but faces stiff competition from offers such as YouPrice’s 130 GB for €7.99 and Lebara’s 250 GB for €8.99, prompting consumers to compare data volumes and pricing.
