Bovensiepen unveils 05 GT luxury hybrid with 800 horsepower

Bovensiepen, the former owners of Alpina, introduced the 05 GT, a limited‑edition grand touring wagon built on the BMW M5 Touring platform. The car uses a plug‑in hybrid V8 powertrain that produces roughly 800 hp and 1,100 Nm of torque, propelling the 2,555 kg vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.6 seconds with a top‑speed limiter of 305 km/h.

The exterior was restyled by designer Frank Stephenson, featuring a new front mask, redesigned bumpers, 21‑inch forged wheels and a four‑pipe titanium Akrapovič exhaust. Inside, the cabin is hand‑crafted with Lavalina leather and extensive customization options. Production will be strictly limited, and the German market price is expected to start at €198,900, well above the standard M5 Touring.

The 05 GT aims to continue Alpina’s legacy of blending high performance with luxury, offering a discreet yet powerful alternative for discerning buyers.
