Bovensiepen 05 GT unveiled: 800‑hp BMW M5 Touring reinterpretation

German coachbuilder Bovensiepen, successor to Alpina, introduced the 05 GT – a heavily reengineered version of the BMW M5 Touring. The model uses the M5’s plug‑in‑hybrid V8 powertrain, uprated to 800 hp (589 kW) and 1 100 Nm of torque, delivering 0‑100 km/h in under 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h.

Design work was led by former BMW designer Frank Stephenson, who created a new front grille laser‑cut from stainless steel, a rear quad‑exhaust from Akrapovič titanium and a bespoke body kit. The car rides on 21‑inch lightweight forged wheels fitted with custom Pirelli “BOV” tires and runs on an Eibach‑spring suspension with a reinforced strut tower. Inside, the cabin is upholstered in hand‑crafted Lavalina leather, with an optional full‑leather treatment adding €20 000 to the price.

Production is limited to 200 units per year, priced at €198 900 (incl. German VAT) and scheduled for first deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2026. The 05 GT positions itself as an ultra‑exclusive Grand Tourer that blends high performance with luxury craftsmanship.
