Bowen Yang to debut on Broadway in “Oh, Mary!”

Comedian and former Saturday Night Live cast member Bowen Yang will make his Broadway debut playing Mary Todd Lincoln in the Tony‑winning production “Oh, Mary!” at New York’s Lyceum Theatre. His run begins on 15 September and runs for twelve weeks, ending on 6 December, succeeding Meg Stalter. The show, directed by 2025 Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton, opened on Broadway on 11 July 2024 and has repeatedly broken box‑office records, becoming the first production in the theatre’s 121‑year history to gross more than $1 million in a single week and the first of the 2024‑25 season to recoup its investment. Yang joins cast members Phillip James Brannon, Barrett Foa, Bianca Leigh and returning original cast member Tony Macht. The play, written by Cole Escola, offers a darkly comic take on Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks before Abraham Lincoln’s assassination.
