Bowers & Wilkins announces 60th anniversary SACD and Nautilus price increase
High-end audio brand Bowers & Wilkins is celebrating its 60th anniversary through a collaboration with Stereo Sound magazine. The two companies, both founded in 1966, are releasing a limited edition SACD/CD hybrid titled ‘The Reference – Bowers & Wilkins × Stereo Sound 60th Anniversary’. The release is limited to 2,000 copies with no plans for additional production. The disc features test signals, tracks selected by audio critics, and bonus tracks including artists such as Peter Gabriel and Seiji Ozawa. Mastering was conducted at Sony Music Studios Tokyo - Mastering 1.
Separately, Bowers & Wilkins announced a significant price revision for its flagship Nautilus floor-standing speakers. Effective November 5, 2026, the suggested retail price for a pair will increase from 15,400,000 yen to 33,000,000 yen. The company cited rising raw material costs, logistics expenses, and currency fluctuations as the primary drivers for the adjustment, stating that these costs have exceeded the scope of internal efficiency efforts.
