Bowling Green hosts university and community engagement events
Bowling Green, Ohio, recently hosted two community-focused events aimed at fostering connections between Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and the local community.
On August 25, BGSU held its inaugural ‘Night Market’ on the Clocktower Green. Organized by the Office of Student Engagement, the event featured 20 local vendors, including mobile bookstores, jewelry makers, and artists. Approximately 750 students attended the market, which provided a platform for local businesses, staff, and student organizations like the BGSU Beekeeping Club to showcase their work.
Additionally, the city celebrated its sixth annual ‘Rally BG on Main.’ This event, established following the COVID-19 pandemic through a collaboration between Mayor Mike Aspacher and BGSU President Rodney Rogers, serves to unite the campus and town populations. The festivities included a performance by the 600-member Falcon Marching Band, ziplining, and various community games and contests.
