Bowling Green State University undergraduate enrollment rises over 3%

Bowling Green State University (BGSU) reported a more than 3% increase in total undergraduate enrollment for the fall 2026 semester. The growth is driven by rising numbers of students from Ohio and the Midwest, alongside significant increases in out-of-state enrollment.

Specific regional growth includes an 11% rise in new students from the Cleveland area and a 32% increase from southeast Ohio. Out-of-state numbers saw a 39% increase from Wayne County, Michigan, and a 40% increase from Pennsylvania. BGSU President Rodney K. Rogers noted that the university achieved its enrollment goals despite a competitive landscape among Ohio universities.

The incoming class is noted as the highest achieving in the institution's history, featuring a cumulative 3.77 grade point average and an average ACT score of 25. Growth is particularly concentrated in degree programs aligned with workforce needs, such as nursing, engineering, and education.
