The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against the University of Massachusetts Minutewomen at Cochrane Stadium on October 1.
Junior midfielder Minah Syam played a pivotal role for the Falcons, scoring her first collegiate goal with a jumping scissor kick to tie the game 1-1 in the first half. Syam also provided an assist to senior Emme Butera, who scored the tying goal in the 85th minute after UMass had retaken the lead.
For the Minutewomen, Amelia Deren scored via a penalty kick, and Monica Curry added a second goal. Despite UMass holding the lead twice, Bowling Green maintained a significant shot advantage, recording 22 total attempts compared to UMass's 12. Falcon goalkeeper Payton O'Malley made five saves during the match.
