Bowman Gray Stadium to host NASCAR Truck Series race in 2027
Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, will host a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on August 20, 2027. This event marks the first time since 1971 that NASCAR teams will compete for points at the historic venue.
While the stadium has recently hosted the Cup Series exhibition race known as ‘The Clash’, that event is scheduled to return to Daytona International Speedway in 2027. The upcoming Truck Series race will be the first time drivers in that specific series compete at the 0.250-mile short track, often referred to as ‘The Madhouse’.
Clay Campbell, President of Martinsville Speedway and Vice President of NASCAR Mid-Atlantic, described the announcement as an ‘incredibly exciting moment’ for the facility and its passionate fanbase. Due to the limited space of the track, officials may implement qualifying races to determine the starting grid, as the venue cannot accommodate the full 36-truck championship field.
