Boxer Fernando Vargas Jr. arrested for suspected DUI after car crash

Professional boxer Fernando Vargas Jr. was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a multi-vehicle collision at the Universal Studios Hollywood parking structure.

California Highway Patrol responded to the three-car wreck on the night of September 10. Officers reported observing signs of alcohol impairment from the 29-year-old Vargas Jr. and subsequently conducted a DUI investigation. He was taken into custody and transported to the CHP Central Los Angeles Area office.

The case is being submitted to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office for review and potential charges. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident. Vargas Jr., the son of former world champion Fernando Vargas, holds a professional boxing record of 17 wins and 1 loss.
