Boxer İvana Kılcı targets European Championship gold in Trabzon

Fourteen-year-old national boxer İvana Kılcı is preparing to compete for a gold medal at the European Championship to be held in Trabzon this October. Discovered through a sports talent screening program in Hatay in 2022, Kılcı began training under coach Cemal Dağlıoğlu.

Her athletic progression was briefly interrupted by the February 6, 2023, earthquakes, but she returned to training to aid her physical and mental recovery. Kılcı's recent achievements include two Turkish national championships and a bronze medal at the Under-15 European Boxing Championship in Montenegro.

Supported by the Turkish Boxing Federation, Kılcı is currently undergoing a four-stage training camp focusing on technical and tactical skills. She expressed high motivation for the upcoming competition, noting that hosting the championship in Turkey adds to her drive to reach the top of the podium.
