Boxer Kishawn Porter charged with murder of two-year-old

Kishawn Porter, a 23-year-old professional light heavyweight boxer from Phoenix, Arizona, has been charged with first-degree murder and child abuse following the death of a two-year-old boy in Mesa.

The investigation began after the child was found in critical condition in an apartment and subsequently died at a hospital. Medical examiners reported that an autopsy revealed not only fatal injuries from recent strikes but also evidence of older, healing injuries, suggesting a pattern of systematic abuse rather than an isolated incident.

Authorities are also investigating whether Porter was violent toward another child, a one-year-old boy. During court proceedings, a $1.5 million cash bail was set. Following the allegations, two boxing-related organizations have terminated their associations with Porter. Investigators also noted suspicious injuries on Porter's hands that may not be related to his professional boxing career.
