India clinches two women's boxing golds at Commonwealth Games 2026

At the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, Indian women boxers secured two gold medals. Preeti Pawar of Haryana won the 54 kg final, defeating Canada’s Scarlet Delgado 5‑0, while Jasmine Lumboria captured the 57 kg title by beating Northern Ireland’s Mikela Walsh with the same score. Their victories raised India’s boxing gold tally to seven and contributed to a total of 13 gold, 17 silver and 9 bronze medals for the country at the Games.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised male boxers Narender Berwal for his silver in the 90+ kg category and Ankush Panhul for his gold in the 80 kg division, underscoring India’s strong overall performance in boxing at the event.
