Boxers qualify for major international sporting events

Several boxers have secured qualifications for upcoming international competitions. In Mexico, boxer Jorge Nieblas has been selected to lead the Mexican delegation for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal. Nieblas, who has participated in training camps at the National Center for High Performance in Mexico City, is part of a 62-athlete Mexican contingent competing in 25 disciplines.

In a separate qualifying tournament for the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, four Dominican boxers—Junior Alcántara, Ezequiel Medina, Alanny Pérez, and Ricardo Cuello—secured their spots following victories. These wins bring the total number of qualified Dominican pugilists to five for the continental event scheduled for July and August 2027.
