Boxing Federation of India suspends Secretary General Pramod Kumar

The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has suspended Secretary General Pramod Kumar with immediate effect. The interim suspension, issued by President Ajay Singh, follows allegations of financial irregularities, misuse of authority, and attempts to obstruct internal investigations.

The suspension comes amid an escalating power struggle within the federation. Kumar had previously sought to convene a special general meeting to move a no-confidence motion against Singh, citing a breakdown in governance. In response, the BFI leadership accused Kumar of issuing unauthorized notices and interfering with inquiries, including an investigation into the cancellation of the BFI Elite Men and Women Open Boxing Championship 2026.

During the suspension period, Kumar is prohibited from exercising official powers, issuing communications on behalf of the federation, or accessing records related to ongoing investigations. The BFI stated that the measure is an interim step and does not constitute a final verdict on the allegations.
