Boy Meets World stars critique Girl Meets World spin-off

Former ‘Boy Meets World’ stars Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, and Will Friedle have expressed frustration regarding the Disney Channel sequel, ‘Girl Meets World’. Speaking on their podcast, ‘Pod Meets World’, the actors discussed how the spin-off failed to establish its own identity, instead leaning heavily on the original series.

Fishel noted that despite initial agreements with executive producer Michael Jacobs to create a standalone show rather than a reboot, the production team frequently attempted to ‘shoehorn’ elements of the original sitcom into the new series.

The cast also critiqued the pilot episode, specifically noting an age imbalance in the casting of the lead characters and criticizing the low-energy introduction of the character Cory Matthews.
