Boyacá Artisans Debut at Lisbon International Fair

A delegation from the Boyacá department of Colombia presented traditional handicrafts at the International Fair of Handicrafts in Lisbon, Portugal. Led by social manager Daniela Assis, thirteen artisans from as many municipalities displayed basketry, wool weaving, ceramics, wood carving and leather balls, highlighting the work of ceramist Laureano Martínez and weaver Luz Mery Guzmán.

The regional government aims to boost the local economy by establishing direct links with European distributors and design galleries, eliminating intermediaries and laying the groundwork for a long‑term export strategy for Boyacá’s crafts.
