Boyan Hristov, prominent Bulgarian music producer, passes away
Bulgarian musician, producer, and songwriter Boyan Hristov has passed away following a long battle with a severe oncological disease. His family announced his death, noting that he fought bravely until the end.
Hristov was a multifaceted artist who worked as a singer, arranger, and vocal pedagogue. He was known for his involvement in the entire creative process of musical projects, from songwriting and arrangement to developing an artist's concept and image. Throughout his career, he collaborated with prominent names in the Bulgarian pop scene, including Maria Ilieva, Lyubo Kirov, Poly Genova, Hilda Kazasyan, Mihaela Fileva, and Mariana Popova.
Born in Plovdiv to a musical family, Hristov was trained as an actor but dedicated his professional life to music. He gained early recognition by winning a competition for young pop performers with a cover of Lionel Richie’s ‘Hello’. During his illness, a fundraising campaign was organized to support his medical treatment.
