Boyfriend of Brazilian influencer Aline Mineiro investigated for attempted homicide

The São Paulo Civil Police opened an inquiry on 31 July into Nelson Mesquita (also reported as Nelson Vinícius), the boyfriend of digital influencer Aline Mineiro. The investigation concerns an alleged attempted homicide that occurred on 28 July in the condominium where the couple lives in the Santo Amaro district of São Paulo. According to the police report, Mesquita assaulted a 20‑year‑old man with punches and kicks, continuing the violence after the victim fell unconscious, causing severe bleeding. The authorities consider the act to show intent to kill or reckless disregard for the victim’s life. The case has been forwarded to the Tribunal do Júri for possible prosecution. Initial reports classified the incident as bodily injury, but the police upgraded the charge after reviewing security‑camera footage and medical records.
