Boyko Borisov Announces GERB Alternative Cabinet in Bulgaria

At a meeting with the GERB youth organization in Kyustendil, party leader Boyko Borisov said the party is building an alternative cabinet to give voters a clear choice. He explained that two to three party members will compete for each ministerial post, aiming to be ready to govern again when the opportunity arises.

Borisov criticised the current government, accusing it of awarding an extra 2 billion levs to firms he labels “oligarchic” and of keeping former ministers and prime ministers in office as if they were newly appointed. He recalled GERB’s past governance, noting conservative budgets, higher pensions and wages, and the party’s role in Bulgaria’s accession to the eurozone. He also mentioned the recent registration of the “Progressive Bulgaria” party and the involvement of Nikolay Koprinkov in the Rumen Radev executive council, positioning GERB’s effort as a response to perceived political stagnation.
