Boyko Borisov criticizes Bulgaria's national debt and tax policies

Boyko Borisov, leader of the GERB party, criticized Bulgaria's current financial policies during a meeting of the ‘New Minds’ Academy in the village of Mechka. Borisov claimed that since President Rumen Radev has been in power, Bulgaria has accumulated 13 billion euros in new debt.

Comparing the current situation to the administration of Plamen Oresharski, Borisov warned that citizens are entering a regime where they may spend their lives paying off interest on loans. He also mocked political opponents regarding potential new taxes and regulations, promising that if GERB returns to power, such taxes will be abolished. He emphasized that his party has never raised taxes and maintains a commitment to not doing so in the future.
