Boyko Borisov criticizes Bulgarian government and unveils party strategy
Boyko Borisov, leader of the GERB party, has introduced a new strategy for preparing future political cadres through the “New Minds” political academy. During a meeting in Kyustendil, Borisov described the initiative as a way to create a “shadow cabinet” by pairing emerging experts with experienced mentors across various administrative sectors.
Borisov leveled sharp criticisms against the current administration, citing failures in managing inflation, fuel prices, and national security. He specifically addressed rising fuel costs, suggesting that the government should reduce VAT from 20% to 9% to lower prices. He also highlighted a deteriorating criminal environment, referencing the murder of Slavi Binev and alleging connections between political figures and criminal elements.
Regarding the upcoming local elections, Borisov stated that GERB will not offer unsolicited support to any candidates in the second round. He attributed low voter turnout to the absence of a candidate capable of serving as a “unifier of the nation.”
