Boynton Beach Toddler Dies After Head Trapped in Toy Kitchen
A 3‑year‑old girl, identified as Briella Holmes, died after becoming trapped in a wooden toy kitchen playset at a babysitter’s home in Boynton Beach, Florida. Police were called on July 23 when the child was found unresponsive with her head stuck inside the playset. The babysitter’s spouse, who was staying upstairs, discovered the girl, freed her and performed CPR until first responders arrived. She was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition and died four days later, on July 27.
The incident is being investigated by Boynton Beach Police; no criminal charges have been filed and authorities have not linked the case to a recent Consumer Product Safety Commission recall of similar wooden kitchen toys. The medical examiner ruled the death accidental, likely due to positional asphyxia. The investigation remains active.
