Bozankaya trolleybuses enter service in Prague

The Prague Public Transit Company has begun integrating new Bozankaya SNG 12T trolleybuses into its regular service. The first 13 vehicles were taken over in September.

These new models offer increased operational flexibility due to traction batteries that allow the vehicles to travel up to 40 kilometers without overhead lines. This feature enables continued service during power outages or trolley line failures. To maximize passenger space, much of the heavy traction equipment is located on the roof, allowing for more standing room and easier movement within the vehicle.

Designed to handle Prague's diverse climate, the trolleybuses feature advanced climate control systems capable of operating in temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius, even when fully loaded. They are also equipped with additional heating units for winter operation. Additionally, over 70 percent of the vehicle components are sourced from European and Czech suppliers.
