Bozcaada fishing vessel rescued during storm

A fishing vessel named Koçoğulları 3 was rescued off the coast of Bozcaada, Çanakkale, after being swept away by strong currents and a storm. The vessel had been unable to retrieve its nets and requested emergency assistance around 01:00.

Fishermen from Çalı Balıkçılık responded to the distress call. The rescue operation involved a total of 55 personnel from both vessels and the use of several rescue boats. Following several hours of coordinated effort under difficult sea conditions, the vessel was secured and towed to the Geyikli New Pier.

Naci Karabiber, captain of the Çalı Balıkçılık vessel and President of the DEM-BİR Çanakkale-Tekirdağ Regional Union, described the incident, noting that the crew acted immediately to assist the drifting boat despite the stormy weather.
