Bozhanev criticizes GERB for obstructing presidential alternatives

Boyar Bozhanev, co-chairman of 'Da, Bulgaria', has criticized the GERB party for attempting to obstruct a pro-Western, democratic alternative to Iliana Yotova in the upcoming presidential election. Bozhanev specifically addressed the potential candidacy of Andrey Gyurov and Georgi Kandev, describing their entry into the race as 'good news' due to their political potential and Gyurov’s performance as caretaker prime minister.

Bozhanev accused Boyko Borisov and GERB of attacking Gyurov’s candidacy before it has even been officially formalized, calling such actions irresponsible. He argued that political parties should not attempt to dictate voter behavior or pre-emptively decide how right-wing, pro-European voters will act. Bozhanev further criticized GERB, stating the party has come to embody a 'captured state' model and urged leaders to allow citizens to make their own choices without interference.
