Bozhidar Saryaboyukov prepares for European Athletics Championships
Bulgarian long jumper Bozhidar Saryaboyukov is heading to the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham (August 10–16) with a relaxed mindset. Despite setting a national record this season and being considered among Europe's best, Saryaboyukov stated he is not setting specific goals or results in mind to avoid the pressure of unmet expectations.
Saryaboyukov noted that his recent season has been extremely demanding, lacking a full training cycle due to frequent competitions. He expressed a desire to simply enjoy the competition and perform well against the continent's elite. His coach, Dimitar Karamfilov, noted that while they have not conducted many control tests recently, the athlete's competitive results indicate he is in excellent form.
Saryaboyukov is one of six Bulgarian athletes competing in Birmingham, joined by Alex Nachev, Gabriela Petrova, Hristo Iliev, Kristen Radukanova, and Marinela Nineva.
