BPBD Kaltara conducts disaster preparedness simulation

The North Kalimantan Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD Kaltara) conducted a Tabletop Exercise (TTX) in Tanjung Selor to test readiness for forest and land fires (karhutla) and flooding.

The simulation involved multiple agencies, including the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri), the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), and the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas). The exercise aimed to test the recently approved Contingency Plan, which outlines emergency procedures such as aid mobilization and the designation of citizen evacuation points.

According to BPBD Kaltara Secretary Denny Yusdianto, the simulation serves to synchronize the roles, duties, and coordination patterns of all participating stakeholders to ensure an effective response during actual disaster events.
