BPCL hosts Mumbai workshop to expand Maharashtra biogas ecosystem

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) hosted a high-level workshop in Mumbai titled “Waste to Wealth – Scaling GOBARdhan” to accelerate the development of Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects in Maharashtra. Held in partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Maharashtra government, the event focused on strengthening policy, financing, and infrastructure frameworks.

BPCL Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Khanna emphasized that CBG projects offer an integrated opportunity to convert agricultural residues, cattle dung, press mud, and municipal organic waste into clean, renewable energy. The initiative aims to advance scientific waste management, support sustainable agriculture through organic manure production, and generate rural livelihoods by strengthening the circular economy.
