BPJS Kesehatan Holds Health Fun Run in Jakarta for 58th Anniversary

On 28 June 2026, BPJS Kesehatan organized a Health Fun Run at the Gelora Bung Karant (GBK) stadium in Jakarta to celebrate its 58th anniversary and promote preventive health measures. The five‑kilometre event attracted between 1,500 and 2,000 participants, including running clubs, BPJS staff, and public figures such as President’s youth envoy Raffi Ahmad.

Director‑General Prihati Pujowaskito emphasised that the run is part of the broader JKN (Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional) strategy to shift focus from curative care to early‑stage prevention. BPJS data show that of the 285 million JKN members – over 98 % of Indonesia’s population – roughly 400 thousand members under age 45 have been diagnosed with diabetes and more than one million have hypertension. The campaign aims to curb these chronic‑disease trends among the productive‑age population through regular physical activity, screening programmes such as Prolanis Muda, and public education.

The event also highlighted the government’s goal of reducing long‑term health‑care costs by encouraging healthier lifestyles, aligning with President Prabowo Subianto’s “Indonesia Emas 2045” vision of a healthy, competitive citizenry.
