Jakarta court sentences three in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan corruption case

The Jakarta Corruption Court has sentenced three defendants to prison terms ranging from three to seven years for a corruption scheme involving fictitious Work Accident Insurance (JKK) claims at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan between 2014 and 2024.

Former HRD of PT Mitra Adi Perkasa and Director of PT Empat Enam Sejahtera, Renu Arinta Shani, received the heaviest sentence of seven years in prison and a fine of Rp600 million. Two former BPJS Ketenagakerjaan verification staff, Sri Listiani and Sayoko Adi Nugroho, were sentenced to four and three years respectively, with fines of Rp500 million each.

The scheme allegedly defrauded the state of Rp24.55 billion through 391 manipulated claims. The defendants used stolen employee documents, such as ID cards and bank books, and inflated hospital receipts to facilitate the fraudulent payouts.
