The Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) is enhancing its investment strategies to optimize benefits for pilgrims and ensure the long-term sustainability of funds. As of September 2026, BPKH manages Rp185.73 trillion. These efforts, including portfolio diversification and strategic investment exploration, were a central theme at the 8th International Hajj Fund Forum (IHFF) 2026 held in Jakarta.

To mitigate risk and increase returns, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is advocating for a stronger role for BPKH. Minister Mochamad Irfan Yusuf emphasized the desire for Hajj funds to function as a restricted fund, ensuring they are used exclusively for Hajj-related purposes. This push for institutional strengthening coincides with ongoing legislative discussions in the DPR RI regarding the revision of the Hajj Financial Management Law.

Furthermore, BPKH is looking to expand its presence within the Hajj ecosystem. BPKH Supervisory Board Chairman Firmansyah N. Nazaroedin noted that the agency aims to move beyond being a service user to becoming a strategic investment partner in Saudi Arabia, specifically targeting sectors such as accommodation, catering, and logistics in Makkah and Madinah, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
