BPN intensifies regional asset certification in Banten and Makassar

The National Land Agency (BPN) is intensifying efforts across Indonesia to secure legal certainty for regional government assets through various certification and cooperation initiatives.

In Banten, the BPN regional office is targeting the certification of 15 provincial lakes (situ) by 2026. Currently, only 28 out of 133 recorded lake assets have been officially certified. BPN Banten Head Harison Mocodompis stated that the agency aims to certify 10 to 15 assets annually, prioritizing those that are “clear and clean” regarding administrative and physical status to avoid land disputes.

Simultaneously, the Makassar City Government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Makassar BPN to strengthen synergy in managing regional assets. Mayor Munafri Arifuddin and BPN Makassar Head Johanis Buapi emphasized that this collaboration aims to improve land administration, accelerate public services, and secure municipal assets to support urban planning and optimize local original revenue (PAD).
