BPPV vertigo can be managed with physical maneuvers

Sensations of spinning, particularly when changing sleeping positions, waking up, or tilting the head, are often misidentified as low blood pressure. However, these symptoms are frequently linked to Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), a condition caused by issues within the inner ear's balance system.

Dr. Cecep Hermawan explains that because BPPV is a mechanical issue related to the balance organs, treatment does not always require medication. Instead, relief can be achieved through specific physical maneuvers or movements that utilize gravity. To identify the affected side, individuals should lie on their left and right sides to see which direction triggers the strongest spinning sensation. Once the side is identified, specific physical movements can be performed to help alleviate the symptoms.
