BPSC clarifies TRE 4.0 teacher exam pattern and rules

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has clarified the examination pattern for the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE 4.0). The commission announced that the exam will be conducted in two stages: a preliminary exam and a mains exam. This decision follows recommendations from the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) and the Radhakrishnan Committee to enhance transparency and prevent malpractice.

Regarding scoring, the BPSC confirmed that negative marking will remain in effect for all objective-type exams to discourage guessing. The commission also dismissed allegations of bias regarding language mediums, stating that candidates are not asked to select a medium during application and that evaluation is conducted by subject experts regardless of whether the answer is in Hindi or English.

The schedule for the exam will depend on the number of applicants. If applications remain under 500,000, the exam may be held in a single day; otherwise, it will span two to three days. Official dates are expected to be announced in October, with exams potentially held in November or December.

The TRE 4.0 recruitment involves 32,388 total posts across various levels, including Primary (1-5), Middle (6-8), Secondary (9-10), and Higher Secondary (11-12). Age limits and reservation policies vary by category, with specific provisions for women at the primary and middle school levels.
