BPSC postpones application for 32,388 Bihar teacher positions

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has postponed the start of the online application process for the fourth phase of the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4). The application window, which was scheduled to open on September 1, 2026, has been delayed due to procedural changes.

The recruitment drive aims to fill 32,388 vacant teaching positions across various levels in the Bihar Education Department. This includes 16,101 posts for classes 11-12, 3,877 for classes 9-10, 8,563 for classes 6-8, and 3,847 for classes 1-5. The BPSC clarified that the recruitment process itself has not been cancelled, only the application timeline has been adjusted.

A significant change to the examination structure has been introduced for TRE-4: the process will now consist of a single examination, eliminating the previous multi-stage system that included Preliminary Tests (PT) and Mains. New application dates are expected to be announced shortly on the official BPSC website.
