BR-040 viaducts in Cristiano Otoni and Carandaí undergo modernization

EPR Via Mineira has completed the modernization of two viaducts on the BR-040 highway located in Cristiano Otoni and Carandaí. These structures, which were originally built over 60 years ago, underwent structural reinforcement and geometric adjustments to meet modern traffic demands and safety standards.

The upgrades include the installation of shoulders, safety lanes, and rigid concrete barriers to provide better protection for drivers and more space for emergency stops. During the works in Cristiano Otoni, concrete beams weighing up to 50 tons were installed, while in Carandaí, beams weighing approximately 30 tons were used to strengthen the structures.
