BR-116 highway closed in São Paulo due to hazardous material accident

A vehicle accident involving a hazardous substance, described as similar to resin, caused a total closure of the BR-116 highway in Barra do Turvo, São Paulo, during the early hours of Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 2:04 AM at kilometer 564. One person sustained minor injuries and was transported to Hospital Angelina Caron in Curitiba. The closure of the southbound lanes toward Curitiba caused significant traffic congestion in both directions, with queues extending several kilometers.
