BR‑324 Reopened Fully in Simões Filho After Drainage Repairs

The federal police announced that the BR‑324 highway segment at km 604 in Simões Filho, part of the Salvador metropolitan area, has been fully reopened. The lane closures that began after a ruptured drainage structure caused erosion and threatened the road’s stability were lifted on the night of Sunday 19 July, restoring two‑way traffic after roughly twelve days of restrictions.

Emergency works rebuilt the drainage system, contained the erosion and rebuilt the road platform. The reopening normalises travel on one of Bahia’s main corridors, easing the congestion that affected motorists between Salvador and Feira de Santana during the repair period.
