Brač island to connect to Split via new catamaran service

A new year-round catamaran service is scheduled to launch on November 1, 2026, connecting the island of Brač with mainland Croatia. The route will link Pučišća, Postira, Omiš, and Split, significantly reducing travel times for residents and visitors.

Operated by Krilo Fast Ferries (also known as Kapetan Luka) using the vessel Tropic, the service has a capacity of 332 passengers. The journey from Pučišća to Split is expected to take approximately 70 minutes, a substantial reduction from the previous two-and-a-half-hour travel time required via road and ferry.

Under the proposed schedule, the catamaran will depart Pučišća daily at 6:15 am, with a return service from Split planned for 4:15 pm. Omiš is expected to be included in the route on Saturdays and Sundays. While the new line provides improved access to Split for work, education, and healthcare, local representatives noted that the settlement of Povlja was not included in the final connection.
