Braachit municipality evacuates homes following suspicious phone call

The Municipality of Braachit issued a statement following a telephone call received by a local resident requesting the immediate evacuation of a home located below the Social Affairs Center.

In response, the municipality coordinated with the Lebanese Army to investigate the circumstances of the call. The Lebanese Army is currently working with the Mechanism for Monitoring the Cessation of Hostilities to determine the source of the call and whether it originated from Israel, and to assess if it constitutes a genuine threat.

As a precautionary measure to ensure public safety and prevent potential loss of life, the municipality has closed the road leading to the affected area and evacuated the targeted house along with neighboring residences. Authorities are awaiting an official response from the monitoring mechanism before taking further action.
