Brabus unveils 900 hp G-Class convertible
Brabus has unveiled the 900 Rocket Edition Cabrio, a highly exclusive convertible based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63. The vehicle features a modified 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 900 horsepower and a peak torque of 1250 Nm, though electronics limit the torque to 1050 Nm to protect the drivetrain.
The performance allows the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed electronically capped at 240 km/h. To accommodate the convertible design, Brabus engineers developed over 500 new parts, including an electrically operated two-piece soft top that opens or closes in 20 seconds, and structural reinforcements such as a reinforced windshield frame and a carbon-fiber-clad steel roll bar.
Production is extremely limited, with only 10 to 50 units planned depending on specific reports. The vehicle sits on 24-inch forged wheels and utilizes an adjustable KW suspension system capable of a 45 mm ride height adjustment. Pricing for the demonstrator model is approximately 890,740 euros.
