Brad Garlinghouse announces passing of his father

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse shared news of the death of his father, B. Kent Garlinghouse Sr., via a social media post on X. Garlinghouse described his father as a friend, mentor, role model, and inspiration, calling him “the wisest, most thoughtful, and most generous person I have known.”

B. Kent Garlinghouse Sr. (1941–2026) was a businessman and philanthropist with a career spanning manufacturing, banking, and the nonprofit sector. He held an MBA from Harvard Business School and served as chairman of M-C Industries, Inc. The family was also recognized for significant philanthropic contributions to the Topeka Collegiate School.

Following the announcement, prominent figures in the cryptocurrency industry, including Binance's CZ and Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, offered their condolences to Garlinghouse and his family.
