Brad Gerstner pledges $30M for Indiana children's investment accounts

Brad Gerstner, founder and CEO of Altimeter Capital, has announced that his family foundation will contribute more than $30 million toward investment accounts for children in Indiana. The initiative will provide $250 to the account of every eligible Indiana child born in 2023 or 2024, benefiting over 140,000 children.

These accounts, known as Trump Accounts, are part of a federal program designed to encourage broader participation in the economy. Under the law, eligible U.S. citizens born between 2025 and 2028 can receive a one-time $1,000 federal contribution, with additional contributions permitted from parents and others subject to annual limits.

Gerstner stated that the initiative aims to address the economic divide observed during the COVID-19 pandemic. He noted that the goal is to ensure more Americans are invested in the economy to benefit from long-term compound growth.
