Brad Hunt retires after 10-year NHL and AHL career

Canadian defenseman Brad Hunt, 37, announced his retirement from professional hockey on Instagram, ending a 14‑year career that included ten NHL seasons and extensive AHL play. Hunt, who went undrafted, played 288 NHL games for the Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, Vegas Golden Knights, Minnesota Wild, Vancouver Canucks and Colorado Avalanche, recording 86 points. He also logged 422 AHL games with 298 points, becoming a six‑time AHL All‑Star.

His final season was spent with Sport Vaasa in Finland’s league. Hunt was a member of Canada’s 2023 World Championship team that won gold, contributing three assists. In his retirement post he said, “Hockey has been a huge part of my life… I am incredibly grateful for every opportunity, teammate, coach, organization and person who helped me along the way.”
